Hey, remember me? Yes, that's right, I still exist.

Well, I graduated from interpreter school, top of my class, and am now a translator/interpreter for German and English. I already have a job, only for four weeks, but it's a job. They call me junior consultant, even though it's more like slave labor. I work 10-12 hours a day seven days a week (deadlines are FUN.) and at the same time, I'm moving to a new apartment. Coffee keeps me alive (and awake).

So, how are you all doing?

(I'll try to stick around this time, I PROMISE!)

Almost one week of vacation left. I can't wait for classes to start again, because seriously? I am BORED OUT OF MY MIND just sitting here.

I have watched the first three episodes of Dollhouse. Not the Best I've Ever Seen, but since it is Joss Whedon and his shows usually turn out to be good, I've decided to give it a chance. After all, it has Eliza Dushku and she rocks.

Right now I am re-watching Buffy and Alias at the same time, because I just don't have anything better to do. Did I mention I'm kind of bored? ^^

So, apparently the Austrian flu is not yet defeated. I stayed up half of the night preparing that stupid presentation. And then I woke up this morning to discover that I had completely lost my voice and there was just no way I would be able to whisper loud enough for even the second row to hear me. Well, I did not give the presentation today. LOL.

...until fall break. Which is great, cos I'm sick but can't stay home because I MIGHT MISS SOMETHING IMPORTANT and, nerdy as I am, that would just be unacceptable. My sister that little germ spreader obviously caught this flu-like thing in Vienna and of course now we all have it. Only good or at least funny thing about it: the confused or slightly scared looks you get when you tell people you have the Austrian flu. You just have to say it in a really croaky voice and look like you're gonna drop dead any minute.

Also, the presentation I am preparing right now makes me wanna run headfirst into the nearest wall. I should probably not do that, though.

Dude, doing the one-year program is HARD. I am already sleep-deprived after just the first week. Getting up at 5:30 every morning? Not so much my thing. Also, the commuting is a bitch. And their way of practicing conference interpreting is to sit you in a chair and bombard you with grammatically complex sentences with about 300,000 subordinate clauses for 90 minutes.

And I'm loving every minute of it. :P

So now I have the whole weekend to read through that (growing) pile of things that I am supposed to know by yesterday if possible. Plus, I have a tutoring job on Sunday. I need coffeeeee!!!

Duude, it's SATURDAY. I start interpreter school on MONDAY. The freakin' DAY AFTER TOMORROW. I'm NOT PREPARED. I mean, I have everything ready and I'm looking forward to it and stuff, but I wanted to squeeze in a week of doing nothing before I started school and suddenly that very week is over and I have TWO DAYS TO RELAX. Fuck. How do I do that? *panics* Yeah, that's not the way, I know.

Okay, I totally didn't expect that:

Many thanks to whoever nominated me. Made me feel all warm and tingly inside. However much my awkward writing exercises don't deserve it, (which is probably why I usually don't get nominated,) I appreciate this. For real.

Also, there are people who ship River/Jayne? WHY? This is an honest question. I'm not judging, I just never thought of that. (And I'm not sure I get it.) For explanations, hit the reply button at the end of this post.

Non-fandom: Where go summer? It's been raining forever. Not good for earning money, if your ridiculously underpaid job is cutting hedges and being a human lawn-mower. Oh well.

EDIT: random rl happy dancing )
